Laser Hair Removal Side Effects - Scarring

Filed under: Risks, Side effects, Type of laser — Virginia @ 6:18 am

One side effect of laser hair removal is scarring. This is rare and it is usually occurs with less experience operators and it is accompanied by a slight pain. This is a common initial concern for many of patients. All FDA approved laser uses a special cooling system that lowers the temperature of the skin at the treatment site before, during, and after laser exposure. Therefore, the treatment is generally safe with little scarring and the pain is usually mild and well tolerated. Some patients describe the treatment as a sensation like the snap of a rubber band and “much less painful than the waxing I used to subject myself to.” Topical anesthetic cream is an option for more sensitive areas.
